Where the hell were we talking about Wimbledon Live? I can't remember, so I'll put it here:
Does anyone else hear the sound of tinkling glass when the audience applauds? I'm sure it's an artifact of the sampling (and I should be smart enough to figure it out, but I'm too lazy to do so now.)
Mary - yes, I get that too. Mildly irritating, but I can deal with it.
Today's (Thursday's) match downloaded from Wimbledon Live - again, no commentary. I love it!!!
(And I found the interview, but it was the curtailed version. :( Bah.)
OK - talking turkey here.
She did NOT play well today. Flashes of brilliance, yes. A sustained effort, no. Against a real opponent she would have been in real trouble today - second serve aces be damned (not that I didn't love them!)
I can only assume she was discontent after a day of rain and no practice, and having to play in non-Momo conditions: strong winds, cloudy and cool.
Santangelo is going to be a much sterner proposition than either of the first 2. Amelie needs to get her head on straight, and she needs to be challenged in order to aim for week 2.
