The Federer-Nadal Clash

I know many of you probably don't follow men's tennis, but today it's a big day for me.
There's a chance for order to be restored on the face of the earth, and for the piggy muscled bear to be righted down where he belongs in the universe of tennis beauty and triumph.
Will the tennis God have the great day it takes to bear with the violence and bruteness of the animal? Because, who did allow him to stain the flawless music of Federer's playground in the first place?
So, while waiting for ATP to ban him out of the tour (yeah, I hate him that much), let's see if FedEx can hate him as much as I do.

The weather is cheering for Nadal, to start with *fiery*
It's clear and sunny and his loathable spin will bounce as high and as wicked as ever.
Why doesn't someone take him to a baseball court?!?!

POST-MATCH EDIT: T.S. (This Sucks)

POST-POST-MATCH EDIT: Spanky has very very interesting screencaps of Amélie watching today's match: click here (with orange shirt and matching orange scrunchy.... LOL)

DOWN WITH THE ANIMAL!!!

I am nervous, so I can hardly imagine how the players feel... though maybe if I were one of them and had fate in my hands I'd be calmer.

Amélie is watching the match... wonder if she's cheering for someone?

I think Federer's not fighting enough. All those unconverted break points really did something to him. Or maybe he's just pissed that he has to play this animal over and over again...

I'm so tired, I almost feel as if I played the match myself :P

I liked the 2nd set. The rest was kind of depressing. (Federer! What happened to your serve in the 1st set!)

I'll resort to watching the Hamburg final over and over again... ;)

What's the problem with Nadal winning? I think the way he plays on clay is quite cool :-D

The problem is that he dismantles Federer's exquisite art and I get pissed because instead of beauty on the court I see a war :P

I'd rather switch to CNN's reports on Iraq at some point...

My Mother's prays were answered for "Her Boy" or "Honk Kong Phooey" as I now call him (after the old cartoon) :D

His forehand was briliant all tournament :)

Federer really had not looked impressive to me in the matches I've seen at Roland Garros :(

Federer's forehand and serve were cr*p all tourntament.

It has to be said that he rightfully lost to a better more consistent opponent.
He only has himself to blame for this..
He needs to look at his game plan and his self belief and his concentration on court at RG.

Nadal's shots were on fire! :)

Absolutely. Nadal won fairly and had some amazing play. I just don't like to watch that kind of tennis so much (although I must admit that Sabatini used the same heavy topspin ball-leaping-up-to-the-ears against Graf on clay, and I liked it then. But I liked it because there was evaporative heat transfer off Sabatini.)

I kept thinking of Graf's slice backhand during the match.
It kept so low and would annoy all the baseline clay court-ers *evil-grin*
And also how the claycourt baseliners would send these high bouncing top spins to Steffi, but she dealt with them :)

It was what he needed to day but he rarely played it :(
Time to take a leaf out of a "greats" book Fed-man ;)

I love heavy topspin when it comes out of Amélie's racquet and bicep... but that's because she also has an artistic game, and can do many things beside that. That's not the case of Nadal, especially compared to Federer.

(And I'm sure it's also a matter of evaporative heat transfer coming out of the right person... LOL)

He picked his knickers a lot today...
:D

I've seen pictures and Fed looks like he's about to cry... poor baby, I hope he doesn't have Nadal nightmares at night :(

Spank said...

He seemed fine at the award ceremony, more gracious and articulate the Nadal..

Bumsby said...

Everyone's always more gracious and articulate than the beast *mad*

I can only say that the best player won today

Nadal played great and he deserved to win

Federer cannot win by his artistry, he has to take the chances, he didn't and he lost

At the end of the day, the thing which matters is who won, not that who plays like an artist

How dare you all contradict me and freely express your opinion?!?!?! *shock*

LMAO j/k. I know Nadal was the better player and deserved to win, but I can't help being pissed at it. I'm a big Fed fan, and I can't watch Nadal playing. It's my problem, I know. But I can't stand it.

I can't wait for the non-clay season to start... :P (and hopefully Nadal's final of last year was a fluke :P )

Spank said...

I think he is playing well enough to reach the final ;) *teasing*

Imagine Serena or Sharapova or Justine beating Amélie repeatedly in slam finals. I know most people would say they were the better players etc., but I don't think it would boil down to that for you all... maybe I'm wrong :P

Spank said...

Justine would be the better player if she beat Amelie!

I really believe that if there is anyone who has a chance of out playing Justine it is Amelie.

If Amelie is fit she may well be able to outlast the Belgian terrier.

Bumsby said...

LMAO stop! The Belgian terrier against the French silhouette...

Spank said...

??? French silhouette?

Bumsby said...

Nadal reminds of an animal as well. I've been saying it for ages. Physically he has no peers. It's like Serena she she is in shape.

Imagine the WTA if Serena was professional and always in great shape like Nadal... *scared*

Bumsby said...

By silhouette I meant, someone whose contours and shapes don't go easily un-noticed :P

Spank said...

Luckily real women like Serena and myself love cake and biscuits and sweets and tarts and puddings...*yummy*

BARBIE said...

LOL at Spank's last comment

Bumsby said...

*eek* are you saying Serena's ass and yours are related? Btw I know a lot of big women who love to eat.

(And I shouldn't say this, but my colleagues tease me all the time because they say I eat for two - which is true, although apparently I have lightning-speed metabolism which burns everything before it gets stored in my fat cells)

Spank said...

and before any nutrients go to your brain..:P :P :D ;)

Spank said...

The traditional catholic welcome for all free women.. :P

Bumsby said...

Not anymore... now we only save it for the worst... hehehe

Get your damn photos out of my head NOW! LOL ;)

Spank said...

I've put the tiny clip up if you want something else to obsess over

(poor Amelie I am so glad I'm not her..)

I told you to get them out, not make them stay!!! GRRRR...
