Which suitcase would you buy?

I know, this is not exactly "classic posting" during Wimbledon... LOL
But regretfully the All England Lawn Tennis (and Cricket and Croquet and Pool and Darts) Club doesn't make arrangements for someone to carry my stuff around when I travel. So it turns out I have to carry it by myself.

I've bought my last suitcase in 1999 (hey, if you're still reading this and haven't fallen asleep yet it's amazing... I take the yawning for granted) but it's becoming a little uncomfortable since I've seen more developed beings going around airports with 4-wheel, vertical suitcase that seem to walk by themselves :)

So I'm confronted with this hard choice right now:

Go for a "hard" case as they protect your stuff better :)
Make sure the wheels are towards the outer sides of the case not close to the center as that makes it harder to keep balanced when moving it.
Make sure you have a handle that is ajustable in length, so you can make it the correct height for yourself, so it does not make you lean down when you pull it.

In fact yesterday I was at the shop "trying them on" LOL. Carrying them to see how they felt.

I've always had hard cases so I don't worry whether they get damaged.

I think I'll go for the 2nd or 3rd (btw the second picture is wrong, I'll change it)

I like the 3rd one

Btw I hate cabs and I like to walk to place with all my luggage (taking public transportation when I can).
So I figured the 4 wheels could do wonders for me.

I like the 3rd one better too but it's a little expensive and they didn't have it in the shop close to my office so I might have to order it. A Red Bordeaux perhaps, in honor of Amélie nd Loic ;)

The only thing I like about the 3rd one is that it's available in Bordeaux.

;)

You prefer one of the other two?!?

What about an old lady's shopping trolley instead?
That would be the ultimate fashion accessory for your hip-homeless-shabby-chic look! :P :D

Bumsby said...

Right... but it wouldn't be optimal for the business part of the trip :P

Unless I tell them I really want to be a homeless tramp :D

But it would be so "you" :D

Why don't you get a suitcase that vibrates so you can sit on it while awaitng your flight.
After all, there is rarely spare seat in a busy airport these days ;)

Or how about one that ticks? :D

LOL ROFL

Actually I wanted a motorised one, with remote control, with a 4x4 four-wheel drive. So it/we can run up hills easily (you never know where I might end up).

Awww thanks for wanting me to blow off on a luggage bomb :D Can you be any nicer *hugs*

Why don't you get Mary to adapt one for you?
THat way you would save the airfare and not have to worry about losing your suitcase as it would have it's own built in rocket engine?

At least you'd go out with a bang. Or you'd have a blast as they say..
:D

Bumsby said...

Duh... she won't even take me for a moto-ride, how many chances do I have to be taken for a rocket-one... :(

;)

Actually, I think we're testing rockets on August 10 or 11th...I suspect we could rig up a motor mount, but more than likely your luggage would be destroyed on landing, since we don't have time to design a parachute ejection system.

Vibrating luggage... ROFLMAO!!!

Re: moto rides. It's not personal. I'm just not willing to take the responsibility for having someone ride with me. I'll be responsible for myself, but that's it.

I know for many people, passengers on one's moto is all about "serious tits in halter tops mashing against your back"--to paraphrase David Foster Wallace yet again--and lots of leather, but I'm more like an astronaut: armour and helmets and serious gear.

One friend did say that my motorcycling was analogous to other women's purse or shoe fetishes--that my motorcycle and all the gear were accessories.

I think it goes back to my childhood and asthma: couldn't go outside, couldn't run, couldn't play. On the motorcycle, I am outside, I can be very fast, and it is play.

Armour and helmets and serious gear... somehow I thought owners of Bonneville's were more laid back. What if you'll ever buy a sports bike?!?!

Oh, 20 years ago I had a Ninja. It was fun, but I was immortal back then.

go with the 3rd one

Bumsby said...

I DID it! I got the third one, in Bordeaux Red. *happy*
It's so big. I've been telling people that my sister wanted to come with and we wanted to save on plane tickets... LOL.

Great choice now tell me how it is cause i need a new suitcase so i think I might get that one also but tell me if it is a good buy cause it ia not a cheap buy

Spank said...

She really bought it to take *G* with her to the states :P

Bumsby said...

So far it's a great buy. I was carrying it (and pushing it because you can also push it) on sidewalks near my office earlier, and I can tell you she is da bomb! Minor detail though: it was empty. Give me a couple of months to try it full and I promise I'll write a comprehensive review :D

No, I didn't buy it specifically to take G with me... actually the suitcase is for her and I'll hide inside it :D btw I love my Gmail ;)

Hey, choosing the right suitcase was also a choice that I found hard, however I knew straight away what suitcase I would be using on my travels to America the moment I seen the Piazzale Wheeled Luggage
By www.MaxwellScottBags.com.
Don’t let the price fool you, it is worth every penny I have been ferrying my own around with me for around 6 months now and it still looks as stylish as it was from the first day I got it. It also has three internal and three external compartments so you will never be caught short.

Bumsby said...

Mmhh.... I believe you, but I'm not too fond of leather travel bags, I don't know why. I prefer hardcases. And you can't find them so big in leather anyway.

azura said...

Yeah they're all nice, the second one would be the one I'd go for If I needed a new one, although my MaxwellScott travel bag beats all of these hands down
MaxwellScott
not that im bragging or anything...

Bumsby said...

What is this, a MaxwellScot advertising campaign? LOL j/k

I'm ok with my Samsonite. They don't make them so big in leather.
